Set Sail started with a classical violinist and a California hippie busking on the street.

Well the way I advertise works much like the way myspace works, its referred to as viral marketing or network marketing. Myspace is built on word of m outh
to create a subscriber base, friends tell friends who tell more friends. This works so well because person A is friends with person B, so person B wants to check it out. Myspace is really playing everyone like a fiddle, because Person A doesn’t get paid to send person B to myspace. The only difference between what I do and what myspace does is I pay person A when a sale is made. If you are talking how you would get your website advertised on myspace.com, that is no different than a traditional marketing idea. You would pay to have your website on a banner whether people go there or not. Perhaps I have misunderstood your question but if nothing else you know a little more.

Is sites like soundclick and myspace good for producers?
Websites like myspace allow you to upload your music, pictures, videos and other things for free. I see a lot of fellow producers using these site as the main website for they’re beats. Yes these sites allow you to do many things for free however these websites will never beat having your own site and I am going to tell you why. First off you have to think what these websites were designed for? They were not design for you to be successful. They were design to give people a play ground to play in so they can advertise to you.
That’s it! They know they have to give you toys to play with in order to keep you coming back everyday so they can advertise to you. Is that a bad thing? No cause they have to get paid too. They can’t run a major site like that giving away everything for free. So they charge for advertising. Now these site such as social networks are good because you do meet people that otherwise would never had met. Now that’s what social networks and website like soundclick is good for.
The first contact. Don’t try to cram pictures, videos, and music all on one page. Put a few things on there just enough to make them go to your real site. Get your own site! That might be scary for some people who don’t know coding but, there is templates at many website hosting sites so you don’t have to code. You might be thinking it must be expensive. What! According to the stats as of March of this year, there are 220,000 new MySpace accounts registered and it is the largest online social networking portal on the web. MySpace has well over 94 million users online and is the second largest destination on the web, by page views.
It is also apparent, after just going to the main index page, that setting up a user account may not be as easy as it looks.
Larry J Clark has just produced a website http://www.myspace-tutorial.com that helps a user walk-through setting up a new MySpace account and includes tips on how to modify your webpage. According to Clark, an online business marketer, the first impression of MySpace was a little overwhelming. “I saw my daughter on MySpace and looked at her personal page, and thought that that can’t be all that hard to open an account.
..I soon found out otherwise.” Without finding any real help from the MySpace site itself, Clark decided there needed to be a resource online that young and old can understand and assist with a ‘step by step’ tutorial to setting up an account.
The MySpace Tutorial site introduces the visitor to what is MySpace and utilizes a range of graphics to explain the process. Topics include setting up and editing your profile, the MySpace email system, networking, adding friends, profile songs, as well as page layouts and great tips on modifying fonts and views. After visiting the site, there is no reason why the average viewer could not have their new MySpace profile up and running in not time.
There is also a commitment at http://www.myspace-tutorial.com to keep the site updated with new material and guidance. With the daily changes online and the popularity of MySpace, there will always be trends and suggestions from the users that will no doubt transition the site in the future.
